April Newsletter

Don't miss all the news and updates coming from our clinic!

COVID-19 Update

Our priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been the health of our patients, with significant effort being dedicated to how we can safely serve. As the risks of COVID-19 have lessened over time, our clinic team now feels prepared to remove or reduce some of our previous COVID-19 protocols. See below for clinic changes, effective April 1st:

  • Patients exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms no longer require negative PCR results to be seen at the clinic.

  • Patients exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or symptoms of any respiratory illness (coughing, sneezing, fever, sore throat, etc.) can be seen at our clinic. However, screening protocols will remain in place and any patient with a respiratory illness symptom will be required to wear an N95 mask (provided by the clinic).

  • Our clinic is not able to offer COVID-19 testing or COVID-19 vaccinations. We are still recommending patients reach out to Columbus Public Health for either of those services.

Thank you for your support and patience throughout the entire pandemic. Our entire team recognizes that our clinic would not have been able to survive the COVID-19 pandemic without the dedicated volunteers and supporters that fuel our mission. Thank you is all we have, but it will never be enough.

If you have any questions about these new protocols, do not hesitate to talk to our team members.

Continued Masking at the Clinic

While the clinic's team has made certain COVID-19 protocol adjustments, our clinic will continue to require all staff members, Board members, volunteers, patients, and supporters to wear appropriate, well-fitting masks covering their nose and mouth during clinic programs.

As mentioned in the post above, patients experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness will be required to wear an N95 mask.

Our staff team believes that continue masking in a healthcare environment is one of the best ways to keep all community members healthy. While we understand mask-fatigue and lifted mask restrictions in other settings, we also want to do our part to keep the community safe. We appreciate your respect and cooperation as our clinic continues to mask.

If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at 614-262-5094.

Changes to Physical Exams

As the clinic's team has seen changes in the requests for physical exams, Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center has decided to request a $5 donation from patients requesting a physical exam for work or school. This donation will function similarly to the TB skin testing donation in that if a patient voices an inability to pay, the clinic will waive the donation request. This change will be effective April 1st.

Patients will still need to call and schedule physical exams in advance.
