Update on Pilot Program - Performing Physical Exams on Tuesdays

Remember that 6-week pilot we mentioned in previous newsletters? If you are unfamiliar with this pilot, it is a 6-week program to see if our patient population would benefit from moving physical exams from Thursdays (the day we administer now) to Tuesdays during the TB Skin Testing Program.

It launched last month and we've got some updates!

We are a little over half-way through with this pilot, but we wanted to share what our clinic has learned so far. Our clinic is pleasantly surprised with the outcome thus far; in that, we have seen an increase in the number of patients who are coming to the facility, not only for TB test, but physicals as well. We are happy to help save some time and give our patients a jump start in their careers and/or school.

There are two weeks left in the pilot, Tuesday, August 6th and Tuesday, August 13th from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. After that, we will review and decide if our clinic will continue to operate with physicals being done on Tuesdays.

If you are available to help us, please feel free to reach out to Sogand at sabbasi@helpinghandsfreeclinic.org with your interest. Thank you all for being open to this new opportunity!

Welcome Meg Ferrara - Sharecorps VISTA

It is official! We have hired an AmeriCorps VISTA as a Communications and Fundraising Associate! Meg Ferrara joined our team in early July after relocating from Central New Jersey to Central Ohio to be a part of our clinic. She has a lot of great ideas and we're excited to have her on the team.

If you know a place in Columbus/Central Ohio that you just love, please feel free to share with Meg. Or if you would like to get to know Meg, grab her to chat during an upcoming clinic!

Dinner and Manual Labor Volunteers

There are some rooms throughout the clinic that are in need of some tender, love, and care. If you, or anyone you know, is in the manual labor field please contact our clinic. Our clinic is seeking individuals interested in helping paint and to spruce up the facility.

Also, if you, or anyone you know, enjoys providing meals for our wonderful volunteers – our clinic is looking for dinner preparation help for our Thursday night clinic.

If you are interested and/or available to help us, please feel free to reach out to Sogand at sabbasi@helpinghandsfreeclinic.org with your interest.
