Update: Women's Health Program
After having to pause the Women's Health Program at the end of last year due to COVID-19, it is back up and running! The program is offered every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12 PM to 3 PM, and provides free pap smears, pelvic exams, and clinical breast exams to women in the community. To schedule a women's health appointment, please call us at 614-262-5094.
Update: Free Physical Exams
Because hiring has slowed down due to the pandemic, we have decided to scale back on the physical exam program and offer it every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month for the time being. When hiring ramps back up and more people in the community need our services, we will transition the program back into a weekly service.
Free Winter Blankets for Patients
Thanks to a generous grant, we were able to purchase 300 king-sized blankets to gift to each of our patients! Because we are asking all patients to wait outside before bringing them inside the clinic one by one, many patients who get dropped off or who arrive by bus or on foot are stuck waiting in the cold. Our solution? Free blankets for all! We hope that these blankets will keep our patients warm at the clinic and serve them well at home.
Job Opportunity: Operations Manager
We are looking to hire for the Operations Manager position. If you or someone you know is passionate about healthcare for the underserved, please contact Sarah Gray at sgray@helpinghandsfreeclinic.org about this opportunity. The opportunity is listed Under "Contact" on our website.
Volunteer of the Month: Megan Halloran
For February, the volunteer of the month is Megan! She is one of our dedicated student volunteers who oftentimes escorts and discharges patients on clinic nights. Megan is always willing to step in wherever help is needed, and does so enthusiastically. A fun fact about Megan is she is terrified of mascots. Stay away, Brutus Buckeye!
