July Newsletter - Clinic Reopening

Don't miss all the news and updates coming from our clinic!

Executive Director Report

Thank you all for being patient with me and with the clinic.

However, this month, I come bearing good news. Our clinic will be reopening to serve patients beginning on Thursday, July 23rd. We have changed the physical space of the clinic and we've changed procedures and protocols in order to create a safe environment for patients, volunteers, and staff.

The model we've designed is an on-site/virtual hybrid model where patients will come to the clinic, but some of our regular services will be provided in-person and some will be provided via teleservice and telehealth. We still have need for volunteers, but in an effort to make sure this new model is safe and effective, we are limiting the number of volunteers, both on-site and virtually, for the first weeks of the clinic reopening. If you're interested in volunteering or learning more about our volunteer needs during this time, please reach out to Sogand at sabbasi@helpinghandsfreeclinic.org.

While we are excited to open our doors and care for patients, we know that we have a long, uphill battle ahead of us. We will likely have to adapt our model several more times. COVID-19 still remains, which means we'll have to continue to be careful and to remain vigilant.

Thank you for your commitment to our clinic as we continue to change over the coming months.

Many Blessings,

Sarah

The Big Give

The Columbus Foundation's Big Give donation initiative took place last month and all we have to say is THANK YOU! Thank you for being you and for supporting our clinic, as you always do. We were able to raise $60,535 during The Big Give. These funds are able to support our mission and our program changes due to the pandemic. We appreciate the support and generosity of our community.

THANK YOU!

Bowl to Help - 2020 Update

The clinic's team has made the difficult decision to CANCEL BOWL TO HELP 2020 on August 29th. While we were hoping the Coronavirus would not impact Bowl to Help, it has greatly influenced our decision to cancel the event. We want to keep our community safe and minimize the potential spread of the Coronavirus. We will miss seeing you all at the event this year, but we have secured a date for 2021 and are excited to make that a sensational comeback year!

SAVE THE DATE: Bowl to Help 2021 will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021

PS - I know what you're thinking... They just canceled Bowl to Help; what's going to happen to all of the amazing raffle prizes? STAY TUNED!! We'll be making an announcement soon about some other events to take place later this year.
