We need financial donations to help us serve our patients. According to the news release from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners on April 18, 2018, there are an estimated 105,000 Franklin County residents who are uninsured or underinsured. These uninsured and underinsured residents may not be receiving medical care in order to cover other basic necessities, such as food, clothing, and rent.
In addition, the Franklin County HealthMap2016 (2017) identifies the most pressing health needs as:
Second, infant mortality,
Third, access to care.
As access to care is one of the top 3 prioritized health needs in Franklin County, Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center recognizes the need for its services in the Columbus and Franklin County communities.
Donations to Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center are used for a number of purposes; monetary donations help us keep the lights on, keep our rent paid, and keep our medical resource closet stocked. By donating to Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center, you are fueling our mission and providing us with the opportunity to expand our reach and serve more patients in the central Ohio region.
Many of the patients cared for at Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center need a physical exam for either work or school. We try to encourage those patients to continue to live a healthy lifestyle after their physical exam by providing them with a pedometer. A donation of $10.00 helps us to provide pedometers to all physical exam patients.
