April Newsletter

Don't miss all the news and updates coming from our clinic!

HealthyU 2021

We are excited to announce that this May, we will be launching HealthyU 2021! The first six-week workshop will guide those who experience chronic pain. Future workshops will provide instruction on self-management of diabetes and other chronic conditions. If you know anyone who would benefit from this program, please share this information with them. Thank you to Carlotta Hughes-Culp and Jan Patton, our wonderful HealthyU instructors, for offering this program again this year!

Community Garden Update

If you have been keeping up with our newsletters and social media, you may already know that Helping Hands is starting a community garden. As can be seen in the photo above, we are making progress!

If you would like to volunteer in our garden, please send an email to nliu@helpinghandsfreeclinic.org. Our volunteers are vital to our mission of providing fresh, nutritious produce to patients when they visit the clinic. We hope that the garden will bolster the medical care we offer at the clinic and allow us to engage more with the community.

Volunteer of the Month: Kate Niles

Our volunteer of the month of April is Kate! She is a women's health nurse practitioner who co-leads our Women's Health Program. Kate loves volunteering in her free time and always shows up eager to see patients. A fun fact about Kate is she was born in Japan!
